Nick wanted to see Daisy and Tom so instead they talk on the telephone, he decided to go see them face to face.
Daisy was just hanging out with her friends and drinking so she doesn’t concern other people’s feelings. For example, her baby (child).
My feelings about Tom that suprise me is that cheating on daisy because it’s bad to cheat on the person that you love that you are married to and you both have a baby to take care of.

Hopepunk is the artistic movements that can rise beautifully which can leave flowly from the culture you belong to. This can cause writers and artist to go into their main event towards the mainstream.

What is genre?
Genre is used for categories that is created in music, art, and literature from the characterized of the different style that is given.

Examples:
Adventure, Drama, Horror, Mystery, Romance, Fantasy, Action, Comedy, Hictorical, And Western.

What is the difference between naturalism, realism, and modernism?
For naturalism, it is like the movement, or showing what the character is doing in a story it’s like ethos, but during the 20th century, people wasn’t able to control themselves, or movement. Realism came later on. During the 20th century, realism is when they started to create feelings. They started to be confused and terrified. This is like pathos. The last one is modernism, this is when people started to think of what they want to do and they have to the reason for it such as knowing why we need to have freedom. This can be logos.

American Literature Notes

Paul Simon find music from “Accordins Jive Hits Volume III” from a tape recorder and wanted to know someone that can do music from South Africa.  Some people wanted to have African and Hip Hop music together even though some may be confuse so they think that it would be a fun way to do it and bring joy to other people. While Paul Simon was in Africa, he felt happy and amazing while spending his ten to twelve days being there. While created their music, African mothers, fathers, and children get to see it. Paul Simon ask what the African family was singing about. The man told Paul that it was somehow about how woman get to have short skirts during the 60’s which I think it’s means that woman had their own rights to choose what they want to wear and who they want to be. They decide to make their song “Lady Smith” to be at the end of their album, or their last song. Paul Simon had a song called “Diamond On The Sole of Her Shoe” was one of the popular that goes like “da na na na na”. He also had another song that had like New York lyrics, but with an African music.

Notes From Today’s Lecture & MLK Notes

Ethos: Convincing the author what the character is doing in the story (movement, or credibility).
Pathos: Character in the the story is showing, or appealing their emotions towards the author.
Logos: The author needs to know the logic, or reason to know why the important event of a story happen.

Misery, Hope, and Writing Both Ways:
It can be about a main event about that you feel completely useless like you are have sorrow towards yourself. Later, you realize that you want to raise up again because you want to the happy. This is can be a cause of anyone’s personal life. For John Steinbeck, he had a difficult time with his friend that went to war in World War ll which this cause a falling apart friendship. Later on, John started to defend himself towards Rebecca Solnit because she put stories as negativity while John thinks think people needs to rise more and be happy, but there are both reasons of having good and evil into our society. John was right about having good and evil riding along together because they will always be with you if your art and litecure. We have to remember in our life of life and human spirit.

Genre At The Beginning Of The 20th Cenutry (Naturalism, Realism, Modernism):
There was a growth of Naturalist movement which is a fiction. This cause characters to the ethos in the stories by not being able to control. These characters can be lower class have different qualities of what they do, or act. Later on, Naturalist started to died out so people decided to replace it to “Realism”.  Realism is the control of the emotion of he character. It is explains as a building a world of the choices that you make in your life. They keep forces of themselves by who are they talking to and keep money safe. This cause their actions to be self-determine. Later on after the World War l, they started to have Monderism which is the third thing about short stories. This became like a question about thinking heir freedom, progress in life, and social equality. Modernism artists saw this war as a terrifying situation. These artists cause that killing other people can be possible. This cause people to lose faith and feel like they want to fall. These people are called the old social orders which turn into a new one which they think that communism isn’t a place to make equator one another and having they freedom we need so this so confusion. These people are confusion and want to know about this world we are living in which is also called the “stream of consciousness” of writing.

MLK Notes Of Video:
“I Have a Dream” was Martin Luther’s King Jr.’s speech that he have shared out towards people in Washington about equality and racism because we need a change in our society. He is glad to be in front of the people which cause this be the greatest proof for our freedom in is in our history. He also talking about Abraham Lincolnsinging the Emancipation Proclamation. He thinks that it can be a joyful break of a long night by being free for the people that be enslaved, but they are still not free. He wants to that everyone should have the right of life, liberty, and be happy with their lives. Black people need to have enough money for check because black people are not getting enough money for their paycheck.

The World Is My Library

I find a the novel and two short stories on Google. For one of the short stories, I find “The Awakening” by Kate Chopin. The reason I have chose this short story because I want to know want the husband had an affair with his wife because this happen to me and my older brothers that have been affected from our dad. The next short story I have find is “The Old Man and The Sea” by Ernest Hemingway. The reason I have chose this short story is that it talks about a fisherman because my grandpa that pass away last year loves to do fishing back than. The novel that I have find is “An American Tragedy” by Theodore Dreiser. The reason I have chose this novel because it is a person having a downfall in their life because all humans experience a downfall during their life.

How To Get To Graceland

My experience that align with Paul Simon’s video is similar because we both like listening to music that we enjoy and love. Also, we also think there should be more music that can be similar to the music that the artist that we like create.

Strike Thoughts

I think it is the way to meet everyone’s needs because the teacher wanted the students to have a better environment to make the students stay healthy and have more grass, or tree to breathe through peacefully.
